Configure Test telnet server on RHEL 6.4 or Scientific linux 6.4 or Centos 6.4 or Fedora 18

Telnet is a program to allow users to log into the system over network. The users get a shell to work, as if they were logged in physically. But the problem with telnet is that the data and the authentication credentials are sent in clear text over the network and can be sniffed. So a secure method for the same task is to use SSH (secure shell), which encrypts the data and authentication details transffered over the network.

Just Following step here

Step:01:

Installation:

telnet-installation

 

Check install complete or not

install-confirmation-telnet-server

Step:02:

Configuration:

#vim /etc/xinetd.d/telnet

Just change 12 number line

[disable=yes] to [disable=no]

 

save & exit.

Step:03

telnet-configuration

Test:

root user are not supported form remote login via telnet.so add a user murad & set password

test linux -telnet

 

Note:If you want to remotely login via telnet on your server pc,You must be login first time as a Normal user

then u can switch .

#su root [i hope you are successfully login form remotly telnet]

I was tested from my local computer,it also work from remote Computer (Linux Distributd or Windows 7,XP,8)
